Private First Class Christie did not see any military engagements. He served overseas from November 11, 1918 until June 14, 1919 and was honorably discharged June 21, 1919 at Mitchell Field, Long Island, New York.

The June 17, 1942 issue of the Conneautville Courier notes he was granted two tires and two tubes by the Crawford County Rationing Board because he was a rural letter carrier. They must not have lasted long (or the other tires went bad) as he was issued two more tires and two tubes the week of October 5th.
