He was drafted into the U.S. Navy at Erie. During World War II he served from July 21 until May 15, 1946. Bob served in Foreign service from April 26, 1945 until February 17, 1946. November 1, 1945 he was listed as a Seaman 1st Class (RM) on the U.S.S. Lewis Hancock. January 1, 1946 he was listed as serving on the U.S.S. Lewis Hancock, when it was decommissioned. His rank noted as RM3c(T). March 1, 1946 he was listed on the U.S.S. Bullard at San Pedro, California. He was separated from service May 15, 1946 at the USN Personal Separation Center, Lido Beach, Long Island, New York.

LINESVILLE - Robert N. Collins, 80, of Linesville, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Nov. 16, 1925, in Meadville, he was the son of Arthur H. and Mabel Benton Collins. He married Kathryn L. Rudler Oct. 25, 1946, in Linesville.
He owned and operated Robert N. Collins Construction for more than 40 years. Robert served in the US Navy during World War II and in the Korean Conflict.
Robert was a member of Linesville Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Zem Zem Shriners of Erie, Linesville American Legion Post 462 and Pine Masonic Lodge 498. Also, he was formerly on the Linesville Borough Council.
Robert enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Kathryn L. Collins of Linesville, he is survived by a daughter, Colleen Feige and her husband, Charles, of Edina, Minn.; a son, Dennis R. Collins and his friend, Amy Thompson, of Erie; four grandchildren, Gregor Feige of New York, NY, Evan Feige of Edina, Tyler Collins of Erie, and Andrea Collins of Erie; three brothers, his twin, Plummer Collins and his wife Dorothy, of Warren, Harry Collins and his wife, Jackie, of Fayetteville, NC, and Alan Collins and his wife, Lucy of Temple Terrace, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Collins and Arthur H. Collins; and a sister, Lois Coursen.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US Highway 6, Linesville.
By order of John Parmiter, worshipful master of Pine Masonic Lodge 498, there will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Bryan Powell of Linesville Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
