  	John then re-enlisted October 17, 1862 and was mustered into Company C of the 125th Ohio Infantry as a Sergeant on November 1, 1862 at Camp Cleveland, Ohio. He was wounded on the second day of the Battle at Rocky Face Ridge (Whitfield County, Georgia) - May 9, 1864. He was discharged on a surgeon's certificate of disability on June 15, 1865.
