Amos W. Denham, seaman first class, a coast guardsman, demobilized at Brooklyn November 20. Denham enlisted in the coast guard on October 30, 1942, received training at Manhattan Beach, Fort Hancock and New York City and at Sea Girt, N. J. before going aboard the coast guard cruise ship Einy and the USS General Black. |

AMOS "JAKE" WAITE DENHAM
Amos "Jake" Waite Denham, 63, 428 East Erie St., Linesville, died at North Park Manor, Meadville, Thursday, July 24, 1986, following a lengthy illness.
He was born at Linesville, Dec. 18, 1922, a son of Waite and Ida Keech Denham. He married Lois Denham and then married Gladys Van Dusen.
He was a US Coast Guard veteran of World War II and a member of the Linesville American Legion Post 462.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two step-sons, Robert Clark of Meadville and Edward Clark of Saegertown; one step-daughter, Donna Van Dusen of Linesville; three sisters, Grace Berringer of Linesville, Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Jackson of Middlefield, Ohio, and Mrs. Regis (Velma) Albright of Bedford, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, at the William H. Houghton Funeral Home, Linesville, with the Rev. Jeff Conley, pastor of the Linesville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating.
Interment was at Linesville Cemetery.
The family suggested memorial donations be made to the Linesville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
