DEATH OF CLARENCE BUTTERFIELD
Clarence G. Butterfield, 57, of 33 Maple St., Greenville, died suddenly Saturday morning at Greenville Hospital.
He was born in Dicksonburg and had lived in the Linesville area before moving to Greenville some years ago. He was employed by the Chicago Bridge and Iron Co., Greenville, for 32 years and was a member of the Greenville First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Verda Smith; his mother, Mrs. Mae Nelson, Linesville; four sons, Harold, Earl, Roland and Raymond, all of Greenville; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Myers, Woodlake, Minn., and Miss Betty Butterfield, Polk;
Stepchildren surviving are: Mrs. Olive Mellinger, Layton; Samuel Smith, US Navy; George Smith, Cambridge Springs; Mrs. Verda Rohr, New Alexander; Audrey, Betty Jean and Leslie Smith, all of Greenville, and 21 grandchildren.
Three brothers, Arthur, Walter and Kenneth, all of Linesville, and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Nelson, Albion, and Mrs. Mona Clark, Linesville, also survive.
