He was about 50 years of age and leaves three sons and a daughter. He was a son of Gabriel Carnes, this place, and a brother of Arthilla, Hulsey and Luther Carnes. He had been in ill health for several years, troubled with dropsy. He leaves an endowment of $600 in the Knights of Maccabees to his heirs; had drawn out $400 during his illness. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made as we go to press.
