Military Service Civil War - Confederate. Not much is known about William's military career, except that he served in a Louisiana infantry unit during the war. Before the war he was a practicing physician, after the war he joined the mercantile business. Was he a physician in the military? Did he give up the occupation during the war, or because of the war?
