  	He enlisted as a Second Lieutenant August 26, 1862 in Company H of the 141st Pennsylvania Infantry. He resigned his position September 22, 1862. I have to wonder here if he didn't become ill and resigned as he died many years later of "lingering consumption."

  	from the January 16, 1890 issue of the Conneautville Courier: BUNNELL. - In Linesville, Jan. 11th, 1890, of lingering consumption, Aaron W. Bunnell, in the 66th year of his age. also from the January 16, 1890 issue of the Conneautville Courier: LINESVILLE. Special Correspondence of the Courier. Aaron W. Bunnell died in this place on the 11th, of lingering consumption, in the 66th year of his age. He was a son of Samuel Bunnell, Sr., who came to this place from New Jersey at an early day, and was born and spent nearly his whole life here, the exceptions being about 1854 when he removed with his family to Southern Indiana and remained a year, and a few years later resided about three years at Guy's Mills. He may very properly be called one of our old citizens. from a scrapbook at the Linesville Historical Society: BUNNELL - At this place, Jan. 1, 1890, of consumption, Aaron W. Bunnell, aged 65 years and 8 months. Deceased spent his life in this vicinity from childhood, his parents immigrating from New Jersey, and were of the first settlers of this part of the county. Mr. Bunnell was one of a large family and also father of a large grown up family. Funeral was held yesterday.
