      The sudden death of William E. Dennis, of apoplexy, occurred at his home on Penn street, this place, Tuesday, Dec. 18, 1918, at one o'clock p.m. He had not been feeling in best of health, owing to distress of the stomach, and had been taking a little outdoor exercise with hope of wearing it off. Arising from his noonday meal he had only reached the doorway of the adjoining room when he expired.
      Mr. Dennis was born in Pine township, Dec. 31, 1840 and had spent his useful life in this vicinity on a farm until moving to Linesville after retiring from active service.
      He was married Sept. 23, 1873, to Lucy Rea; his second marriage took place April 2, 1898 with Mrs. Roxy Marshall who survives him. He also leaves to mourn his loss three brothers, CC Dennis, Alanson Dennis and JR Dennis, of this place; four sisters, Mrs. Tracey Johnson and Mrs. Polly Culver, Linesville; Mrs. JW Adsit, Geneva, Pa., and Mrs. Mary Clark, Padanaram, O.
      He was a member of Co K, 169th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, a comrade of the GA Post and a member of Linesville ME Church.
